Some people can go from lv1-90 in a few days but for others (including for my first character) it can take more than a month to reach the level cap. If it is your first character I suggest not to rush too much, enjoy the game, read some of the story, watch the cut scenes, get to know some other players and learn your character.
Class Choice:
- Be warned that not all classes are even and some will output higher damage or provide better party support than others.
- Questing and grinding is a great opportunity to meet other players - invite others to join your guild
- Get used to partying - at level cap you will rarely clear any nest or dungeon without a full party
- While you get less killing xp with a party you will clear dungeons much faster with a better rank and can get party and friend bonuses
- If you need someone for your party ask in the guild chat - a lot of players have lower level characters who might be able to join you
If this is your 2nd char:
- I recommend getting your first character to lv90 before making another. Levelling is not that fun.
- With a lv90 your 2nd char will have an exp and hp boost from your unified level.
- You can use your lv90 to get yourself gear - ie. run sdn and pass the sea dragon gear through server storage.
- It can be useful to have a 2nd character complement your main - eg. one support, one dps. This way you can switch to help the party for raids.
- You have the option of making characters on a 2nd account to get double event rewards and so you can play on 2 computers at once but there are disadvantages.
- need another account with different username, etc
- have to restart the game to switch chars
- separate nx
- cannot transfer unbound items between chars with server storage
- separate unified level (which means no xp boost, etc)
- I strongly recommend purchasing a $10 nx prepaid card so that you can use you storage/adventurer bag discount coupons. If you do not have this yet but plan to get in the future then do not open the lvlup boxes until you do because these coupons are time limited.
- Note that I say prepaid. NX credit CANNOT be used to buy things using discount coupons. You can get prepaid without going to a shop through sites like pcgamesupply
- It can be useful to get a pet - they pick up items for you. Pets die and you can buy an item to res a pet for 10 teardrops. Get an extra teardrop each day by doing a single pvp match.
- Dragon Eggs contain items that cannot be obtained by other means such as wings and tails. You might be lucky and get both.
- NX XP scrolls - you can buy one day, one week or one month versions - I suggest wait until a day where you have time to grind before getting one. These last upto lv70.
- Most guilds will help their members with advice or even power levelling
- If the guild is recruiting there are probably other people you can level with
- When you join a guild you get a 50% xp bonus and a title that boosts your stats
- When you reach lv90 the guild master will get keys and usually give them to members. You should ask them.
Power Leveling:
- Begging to be power leveled is discouraged.
- A lot of people will help level lower level players when they are farming certain items or achievement points or are just bored so feel free to ask especially if you just need that one last level.
- Helping low level players is good to do when you have no pwr or life stones as items will still drop if the party has pwr.
- When someone is a mentor they will also not loose pwr or durability in dungeons. To request a mentor. Press o then mentor tab.
Skill Resets:
- When you do your first specialization you will get a skill reset from a quest at Irene. I suggest to NOT finish this quest use this until you reach level cap
- You will also get skill resets in the lvlup reward boxes - remember once you reach the level cap no more reward boxes. Again I suggest not to open these until you reach level cap
- In case you did waste all these resets (or got your build wrong) you can get another skill reset when you reach the scout PVP rank
Questing/grinding:
- I recommend a combination of both but would give preference to main quests with a few daredevil fare clears and 5>town parties from lv50.
- Grinding is faster if you don't mind the monotony and can get fast clear times with a decent grinding party
- Sometimes you can't continue your main quests until you reach a certain level. Look at your quest window and clear the dungeons that have the most quests or just grind those last few levels.
- Pick up all possible quests then do your main quests and you will end up doing most of the side quests on the way
- Don't forget to do your specialisation quests
- At some stage you will want to forfeit the old side quests. You can always come back to them later
- Before you enter any dungeon make sure you grab a commission quest of the board
- Some people take a long time in town so if you are questing it can be good to clear more than one dungeon before going to town (the only time I would clear for side quest)
lv1-10
- Only a few quests to do before you are level 10
lv9-16
- Valley of Mourning
lv16-24
- Astral Coven laboratory
lv24-32
- Black sovereign domain
- Submerged Ruins
- Goberta (solo in daredevil fare)
lv32-40
- Desolation Point
- Dying City Gates
- Gobersia (solo in daredevil fare)
- Krag's Counterattack (solo in daredevil fare)
lv40-50
- Ruined Village
- Lv40 dailies
- Krag's Counterattack (solo in daredevil fare)
lv50-60
- Crash site perimeter grind
- Crash site dailies - Get all quests from saints haven then join or create a party called "5>town". Grab all master commissions of the board and do all 5 crash site dungeons on master. They should be quick to clear with any party of 4 and you will complete maybe 6 quests plus dailies plus commissions giving you a lot xp each time.
- Note about alessa dailies: (Path of Ampar dungons, etc) - these need to be completed on Abyss, are are hard to do at lv50. I suggest not doing these unless you have other quests to do there.
- Golden grasslands
- Dailies
- All seem quite fast - not sure which to recommend yet
- I suggest 4>town, after 10 dungeons you should buy the 70% XP scroll
- Personally I did dailies then 6x more dungeons until I got xp scroll, then repeated next day with the scroll on and was lv90 after a few days
To level faster you can stack up xp bonuses (some don't stack with others):
- Event bonuses - look out for when events are on, recently nexon gave 400% xp bonus
- 10% Guild bonuses - we always keep our guild xp bonus upto date
- 50% Hero's Experience Scroll (given when joining a guild) - you have a few days to collect this from the mail then 10 days I think before it expires - so play hard once you join the guild!
- 10% Guild pledge gear - buy these items from the guild rewards tab
- 5% Party bonus - when you clear multiple dungeons with the same party
- 5% Friend bonus - when you party with someone on your friend list
- 10% Mentor bonus (per mentor in party) - when you party with your mentor
- 5% Peer bonus (per peer in party) - when you party with your mentors other pupils
- 5% unified skill bonus - at lv40 add this unified skill
- 50% unified level bonus (for each lv70 char in the account upto 250%)
- 100% NX XP scroll (usable up to lv70)
- 70% XP Scroll from commission board for lv70-90
- Clearing dungeons with a higher rank (eg. sss) also gives extra xp
NPC Gifting:
Pick up all npc gifts and give to the relevant NPC
- When you gift NPC will mail you certain items
- You will gain faction points that can be exchanged in the faction shop (press Y, click shop)
Items to keep/use:
- Dimensional fragments - keep until you can get a pouch from the crest guy.
- Dimensional box keys - use to get the bunnies at the end of abyss or for heroes battlefield
- Plates - craft to use or sell in market
- Passes - some nests need passes to enter - keep these
- Onyx/altheum/diamons - use to enhance your gear or create plates, can be sold in marketplace
- Stamps - Used to unbind items for selling. I suggest not using these unless the item is worth considerably more than the stamps. Found in:
- lvlup boxes
- occasional event rewards
- can be bought with NX
- In the market (maybe 20gold ea).
- From the achievement point shop once you have 15k points (talk to honest ed)
- From lv90 abyss dungeons
- Crude stamps cost only one teardrop and are only for lv24 and lv32 gear.
- Incomplete stamps can be picked up from any dungeon and used instead of normal stamps but there is a high chance of failure so you might need many to unbind an item.
- Jellies - Used to enhance items beyond +6. Like stamps you will get some jellies from the lvlup boxes and occasional event rewards they can also be bought with NX or in the market (maybe 8gold ea). I suggest saving these until enhance your lv70 gear.
Gear while levelling:
- Concentrate on dealing damage for faster clears instead of getting def/hp
- You get gear from lower level dungeons ie. lv32 gear comes from lv24 dungeons, etc
- You will level up too fast to bother worrying too much about gear until you reach the cap - I recommend not to go back to get gear, just keep moving forward
- Don't forget to enhance your weapons - magic grade is almost free to enhance
- Some decent lower level items can be easily obtained from the faction or daredevil fare shops
- Most guilds keep crafting materials in storage - ask if they can help you with your gear
- Better gear will help you clear dungeons faster with a better rank - ie. more xp/minute
- Doing quests gives you magic gear which is free to enhance so not much worse than other gear
- Most armour/weapons can be improved by adding gems
- ddn/gdn/sdn gear is expensive only because it costs a lot to unbind - it is expensive to enhance and not as good as higher level epic gear
- Don't waste stamps unbinding low level gear to sell
- If you have enough onyx or althium you can risk breaking your weapons and enhance past +6 without jellies to help with damage output just make sure you have a spare
Stats (for gear/plates):
- apparently stun, paralyse, stun resist, paralyse resist can be useful in pvp - these are otherwise worthless and gear with these are cheap in the market
- defense/health - useful to prevent death
- intellect/magic damage - useful if your skills deal magic damage
- strength/agility/physical damage - useful if your skills deal physical damage
- critical - increase your chance to deal double damage
- final damage - gives an additional percentage to any damage type
- fire/ice/light/dark - gives an additional percentage damage to certain skills for certain characters
